Ceremonial Cacao Mentorship
Cacao is a sacred plant from Latin America. She is known by Indigenous people as the medicine of the heart. She is a direct channel to our inner world, but also to something much bigger, much older than us. She is a pathway to the divine and a guardian of ancestral wisdom.
From Mexico to Peru, there is archaeological evidence that she has been part of sacred rituals and cultural traditions for at least 5,000 years—that we know of. To name just a few:
-
Cacao trees were planted in sacred sites such as cenotes and temples
-
Personal cacao vessels were found in the tombs of their owners
-
The Popol Vuh—sacred book of the Maya-Quiché—mentions her as part of the creation story
-
Sacred rituals that include cacao have been painted on pottery and murals
But cacao does not belong to the past—she is a living heritage, carefully guarded and passed down by Indigenous people since the dawn of time.
She is sacred.
She is alive.
She is listening.
She is watching.
She is speaking.
She is healing

Invite the sacred into your life
To invite cacao into your life is to invite the sacred, and the sacred can take different forms. For you, it may be about:
-
Creating a moment for yourself
-
Nourishing your body with intention
-
Discovering an ancient ritual
-
Learning about Indigenous wisdom
-
Strengthening your connection to nature
-
Travelling deeper within yourself
-
Welcoming the support of the Divine
However you choose to connect with cacao, she can become a fierce ally. She not only offers incredible nourishment for your body, but she whispers to your soul.
One of my teachers, Tata Walter, says: “Cacao is a gift for those who can see it, and feel it.”
Often referred to as Mama Cacao, she holds you like a mother—with care and devotion. She helps you feel at home in your own body. She grounds you into the present moment. She opens your heart and fills each of your cells with unconditional love.
Why I created this journey
About six years passed between the first time I heard about cacao as a plant medicine and the first time I actually connected with her.
I could feel there was something so sacred, yet very little information was available online at the time, and I couldn't find any experience that felt true to her ancestral origins. I knew someday she would come my way.
In March 2023, I travelled to Guatemala for the first time and joined a seven-day cacao tour with Nick Meador, founder of Soul Lift Cacao. We spent a whole week visiting plantations, meeting indigenous collectives, and sitting in ceremony with elders.
One year later, I went back to Lake Atitlán to deepen my relationship with cacao. I spent almost three months sitting with the medicine and listening to her guardians. I learned about her sacred origins and her intricate relationship to the Mayan Cosmovision. Finally, I could see and feel the spirit in all things. Plants watch us and speak to us when we know how to listen.
My teachers, Tata Izaïas and Nana Izabel, founders of Lavalove Cacao, told me about a prophecy: “When the world goes out of balance, the spirit of cacao will crawl out of the jungle to open hearts and reconnect people to nature.”
The world needs cacao more than ever, and she needs to be remembered for who she is.
She is a medicine, not a snack.
She is a spirit, not a myth.
She is a teacher, not a trend.
She is an anchor, not an escape.

A sneak peek into your journey
Call 1 | Understanding what ceremonial cacao is
This first call is a theoretical introduction designed to help you gain a deeper understanding of what ceremonial cacao is, and how to source it ethically.
It is a slow and intentional process that requires patience and love. It will be rewarded by a meaningful connection with the medicine as you cultivate your relationship with her.
Call 2 | Connecting with cacao
In this second call, I will guide you through the preparation of this ancient drink. Every step is a prayer, a remembrance of ancestral wisdom, an invocation of the divine.
Call 3 | Creating a sacred ritual
The third call is a deep dive into the spirituality of cacao. I will share with you the importance of creating an altar as it was taught to me by my teachers in Guatemala.
Call 4 | Receiving and remembering
In this fourth and final call, there is nothing for you to do but to be present and receive. After connecting with the sacred medicine of cacao in ceremony, I will guide you through a gentle feminine embodiment practice for you to welcome her with your whole body, and allow her ancient wisdom to flow through you.
My intention is for this program to help you connect with the medicine of IxCacao in a way that feels personal and nourishing, yet honors her sacred origins and her guardians.
